The Hydrocephalus Association is the primary global organization dedicated to research surrounding hydrocephalus and is taking a 3-pronged approach in their fight for a cure; Community, Clarity, and Cure. Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA)

The Brain Injury Association of America is an organization that is dedicated to advancing awareness, research, treatment, and care for those who have been impacted by a brain injury and to help improve those impacted and their quality of life. They have several corporate partners and ample resources and information dedicated to educating people on brain injuries. There are also state chapters affiliated with BIA. Use the “Find Your BIA” tool on their site to get started and find your local chapter.

ABTA was a resource that I was guided to as a brain tumor patient by my neuro-oncologist. They were the first advocacy organization in the U.S. who was committed to funding brain tumor research and providing a platform with education and resources on brain tumors for patients, their family members, and caregivers.

The Progav 2.0 Shunt system is just one of a few options that Miethke offers. It’s one of the newer systems that is unaffected by MRI magnets, not requiring the system to be checked or adjusted after imaging.
